John M. Robinson

Chief of Equal Employment Opportunity

John M. Robinson was appointed the first Chief of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) on Feb. 6, 2006. As EEO lead for the Intelligence Community, Robinson will serve as a senior policy advisor to the Director of National Intelligence on EEO and diversity matters and as a resource to other senior ODNI leaders. His mission will include working with all of the Intelligence Community agencies on diversity, recruitment and retention. Prior to joining the ODNI, Robinson was most recently the Chief of EEO and Diversity for the Internal Revenue Service. His other federal posts include service as a Senior Policy Advisor to the Secretary of Energy, and Deputy Assistant Secretary and Director of the National Employment Service at the U.S. Department of Labor. Prior to his federal service, Robinson was a senior dean at Brown University before joining the Rhode Island Governor’s Cabinet as Director of the Department of Employment and Training. A former Naval officer and Vietnam era veteran, Robinson is a graduate of Brown University and a Fellow of the Kellogg Foundation. He received a Masters degree from Tuskegee University and completed programs at the Federal Executive Institute, the Center for Creative Leadership and the Institute for Education Management at Harvard University.
