Director of National Intelligence John D. Negroponte appointed Carson K. Eoyang as Assistant Deputy Director of National Intelligence (ADDNI) for Education and Training and Chancellor of the National Intelligence University (NIU) on May 1, 2006. As ADDNI and Chancellor of the NIU, Eoyang will help to build cooperative relationships with established Intelligence Community (IC) schools, centers, and civilian institutions, and develop an IC wide intelligence professional education and development program. The NIU is made up of the existing intelligence community schools and universities, the office of the chancellor, and a staff and curriculum which supports the goals of the IC. Prior to joining the ODNI, Mr. Eoyang was most recently the Associate Provost for Executive Education at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
His other key federal positions included service in the White House Office of Science and Technology, Chief Training Officer for the Federal Aviation Administration, Director of Training for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Team Leader on the 1993 Vice Presidential Performance Review, Director of the Defense Personnel Security Research and Education Center, and Associate Professor of Management at the naval Post Graduate School. Prior to his federal service, Eoyang was employed by the McDonnell-Douglas Astronautics Company in Huntington Beach, CA. Eoyang received his BS in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his MBA from the Harvard Business School, and his PhD from Stanford University. He is also the founding Co-chair of the Federal Human Resource Development Council and the first Chair of the Asian American Government Executive Network.
