Selectee will serve as a Supervisory Program Manager (Acquisition) in the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Program Office. In this position, incumbent is the senior program manager and advisor responsible for managing a major systems acquisition program total life cycle requirements to include planning, developing, identifying, justifying, and defending the program's strategic, financial, and execution plans. As such, the incumbent develops near- and long-range strategies and plans to meet the program requirements and establishes implementing criteria and timelines. Oversees program work status and costs; and evaluates progress toward goals and objectives. Incumbent ensures on-time acquisitions and conducts requirements-driven contract oversight, allowing MARS to meet scheduled product release dates.

Coordinates responses and works regularly with senior executives and general flag/officers from OSD, the JCS, Combatant Commands, the Military Services, IC agencies and staff to get buy-in, identify requirements, build partnerships, and solicit broad, active participation in the development and oversight of MARS. The Machine-Assisted Analytic Rapid-Repository System (MARS) Program is one of the DIA Director's top priorities. MARS will allow intelligence analysts and operators to process large amounts of data and to find new relationships, ensuring DIA provides the level of detail necessary to conduct agile, precise, and more sophisticated analysis in support of global military operations. MARS will position the defense intelligence enterprise to better anticipate and predict what will occur in the near and long-term.

This position is considered an Acquisition Workforce (AWF) position under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Accordingly, the position's occupant must be certified with the appropriate DAWIA certification based on mission requirements for the position. If the selectee does not currently possess the required DAWIA certification upon entry into the position, selectee will be given 48 months to achieve certification. This position requires DAWIA "Advanced" Acquisition Program Management Certification.

(U) This is a 24 month assignment with an optional 12 month extension. This assignment provides Joint IC Duty credit in accordance with Intelligence Community Directive 601. Service in more than one element of the Intelligence Community is highly valued.
