Manage the review and analysis of defense and military strategy, campaign and contingency planning, and implementation of global integration and dynamic force employment.
Serve as the single point of contact and an authoritative source of advice/information for the division for all matters related to joint operations and strategic planning issues, including cross functional issues across the Joint Staff directorates.
Exercise significant independence and authority in dealing with officials of other organizations and in advising management officials at higher levels on wide range of force planning issues.
Make Recommendations involving novel, highly complex, and significant issues that result in major decisions that impact the Joint Force programs, policies, and operations.
Perform complex technical studies/projects for joint campaigns and global force employment with national strategic interest.
Supports the integration of DoD program and capabilities across the Joint Force.
Represents the J3 and Joint Staff in DoD and interagency working groups, conferences, or other meetings.
Prepares and provides reports, briefings, and assessments; and makes recommendations to explain essential elements of complex programs and issus to senior civilian and miltary authorities.
Writes adn coordinates materials for briefings to senior leaders in DoD.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required knowledge of DoD and interagency organizations and their functional relationships, programs, and policies and recommends courses of action as appropriate to senior DoD leadership. Superior ability to effectively work with peers and leaders from across the DoD and IC. Demonstrated ability to brief senior leaders.
Must be a current permanent Federal employee
Must have supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment.
Must NOT have any pending/outstanding disciplinary actions
Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation
Must be currently at the grade level of the detail. *No Temporary Promotion Opportunity*

Understand Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff's role as the principal military advisor to the President and his Title 10 US Code as the Global Military Integrator. Understand the role and functions of the Joint Staff and the relationships between the Joint Staff and interagency partners, military Departments and Combatant Commands, and with allies and partners to drive strategic outcome. Understand military methodology and approach to competition, campaigning, and actions during crisis while leveraging whole of government approach. Highlight DoD priorities, develop strategic integration, and deconflict challenges. Identify strategic risk and evaluate overall military preparedness.
Coordinates with DoD organizations and with allies as required.
