WASHINGTON – The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity, within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, announced today that it has launched the Face Recognition Prize Challenge—“FRPC”—in partnership with the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The challenge aims to improve recognition of face images acquired without capture constraints—unconstrained images captured in the “wild.”
WASHINGTON – The Intelligence Community is sponsoring a $500,000 prize competition to explore artificial intelligence approaches that would transform the process by which analysts currently support policymakers and warfighters through the research and generation of written products.
Today, consistent with the USA FREEDOM Act requirements to release certain statistics (codified in 50 U.S.C. § 1873(b)) and the Intelligence Community’s (IC) Principles of Intelligence Transparency, we are releasing our fourth Annual Statistical Transparency Report presenting statistics on how often the government uses certain national security authorities.
Consistent with Section 601 of the Implementing the Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007, as amended (50 U.S.C. 3306), the Director of National Intelligence disclosed to the public on February 9, 2016, the aggregate amount of appropriations requested for Fiscal Year 2017. The $53.5 billion is now updated to include additional funding above the initial President’s Budget Request for the National Intelligence Program (NIP).
